            <title>Built Green Real Estate professionals</title>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>The state Built Green program has developed an 18-hour Real Estate Professionals training program. Built Green members can take the classes, finish an exam, and earn "Built Green" certification.&nbsp; This will qualify you to be listed on the state Built Green website, where the public can search to find Built Green real estate agents in their area. If you're interested in doing this, please contact Whatcom Built Green administrator Linda Twitchell, 671-4247 or <script>sgSafeSendPlain('lindat', 'biawc', 'com');</script>, and we'll get local classes going.</p>
<p>This 18-hour series is being offered in Skagit County in May. Each session is priced at $25, including certified Real Estate and Appraiser Clock Hours. <p>This builder was green before Built Green was conceived. He&rsquo;s been committed to energy efficient, resource efficient, environmentally friendly, healthy homes his entire career.&nbsp; His company has been on the forefront of green building for over 15 years. In 2010 they completed a LEED platinum certification on a home in Bellingham and went on to win the Built Green Washington Custom Home of the Year. His company and a key employee won this same award in 2008, the first time it was given. They have certified more homes in our Built Green program than any other builder-26 in total. Six of them this year alone.&nbsp;Congratulations to&nbsp;the big daddy of green building in Whatcom County: Mr. Rob Staveland,&nbsp; Aiki Homes.</p>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>Congratulations to Credo Construction for receiving Whatcom County's second 5-star Built Green&reg; certification, for owner Clarence Kobes' home on Northwood Road in Lynden! Special features include an ICF foundation, geothermal radiant heating system, and polished concrete floors. High-efficiency materials including energy-efficient windows and insulation values. The 4,715-square-foot home, which has four bedrooms and an attached double-car garage, was built on an infill site with attention to preserving existing landscape features. As required in the Built Green&reg; program, the home is Energy Star&reg; approved.</p>]]></description>
